Clark Regional Medical Center cuts ribbon on expanded Intensive Care Unit to meet the healthcare needs of Clark County and Eastern Kentucky
July 3, 2024
WINCHESTER, Ky. (July 3, 2024) – Clark Regional Medical Center (CRMC) is proud to announce the expansion of its Intensive Care Unit (ICU), a significant enhancement designed to meet the growing healthcare needs of Clark County and Eastern Kentucky. On Friday, June 21, 2024, community leaders, elected officials, CRMC Board of Trustee members, frontline staff and hospital administrators gathered for a ceremonial ribbon cutting outside the ICU addition.
“With the opening of our expanded ICU, Clark Regional Medical Center is better equipped than ever to provide high-quality, lifesaving care to the communities we serve," said Matt Smith, CEO of CRMC at the ribbon cutting ceremony. "This investment reflects our ongoing dedication to improving healthcare access and outcomes for our patients throughout the region.”
The project, with an investment of over $4 million supported by Lifepoint Health, features six new state-of-the-art ICU rooms, nearly doubling the capacity of the former 8-bed unit. The unit is equipped with the latest medical technology and designed to provide advanced critical care services in a modern, comfortable environment. Each of the six new rooms offers enhanced patient monitoring systems, advanced life-support equipment, and improved space for both patients and healthcare providers.
Mayor of Winchester, JoEllen Reed, spoke at the ceremony and reflected on the growth of CRMC over the years. Mayor Reed concluded her remarks by creating a unique meaning behind the ICU acronym – “I see you” – to represent CRMC’s vision and commitment to the healthcare needs of its patients.
The project concludes after nearly one year of construction. For more information on Clark Regional Medical Center and its critical care services offered, please visit ClarkRegional.org.
