The Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing provides higher standard credentials for patient care and better patient outcomes
Winchester, KY (December 21, 2020) – Cark Regional Medical Center (CRMC) would like to recognize its emergency room nurses for their dedication to excellence by achieving certification through the Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing (BCEN). The certification empowers emergency nurses with the ability to do their jobs on the front lines in tense situations, using keen judgement and a higher degree of confidence to quickly assess situations, and take appropriate action swiftly.
“Certification validates your knowledge, skills and expertise in your field of nursing,” said Ashley Moore, RN, MSN, CEN, CPPS, and director of Emergency Services. “To evolve as professional nurses, you should move towards becoming nationally certified. The certification allows nurses to expand their knowledge base and show expertise. There are twelve Certified Emergency Nurses (CEN) providing high quality care at Clark Regional. We also have three Trauma Certified Registered Nurses (TCRN).” Moore urges emergency nurses to get certified to “make an impact and achieve excellence.”
Clark Regional Medical Center’s Emergency Room (ER) team is staffed 24/7 with emergency physicians, nurses and staff who are trained in providing emergency care. The ER wait times are located on Clark Regional Medical Center’s website at Clark.Regional.org. Times are updated every 15 minutes, and CRMC has been recognize as beating the Kentucky state average on turnaround times, according to HospitalCompare.gov.
Recently, CRMC launched a $4.6 million expansion for a cardiac catheterization lab and interventional cardiology program to better serve the region in life-saving heart care. CRMC is an accredited Chest Pain Center, achieving a higher level of expertise to care for patients with heart attack symptoms by the American College of Cardiology.
Clark Regional Medical Center is located at 175 Hospital Drive, Winchester, KY 40391.
