Dr. Uday Shankar joins Clark Clinic Digestive Care Center and Clark Regional Medical Center

Clark Regional Medical Center welcomes Uday Shankar, MD, FACG, AGAF, FASGE to Clark Clinic Digestive Care Center. Dr. Shankar is board-certified in gastroenterology and has worked for 32 years with both adults and children who are experiencing digestive care issues.
Dr. Shankar earned his medical degree in 1982 from Bangalore Medical College in Bangalore, India. He completed his residency in internal medicine and pediatrics in 1989 from the Suny Health Science Center, in Brooklyn, New York. Dr. Shankar earned his fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology from the UMDNJ Children’s Hospital, Newark, New Jersey, and his fellowship in adult gastroenterology from the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque.
He recently worked as CEO and Gastroenterologist of Gastroenterology Associates in Hazard, Kentucky from 1992 until 2019, and then joined Appalachian Regional Healthcare as a full-time gastroenterologist. He is also a community faculty for medical students and residents at the University of Kentucky.
Dr. Shankar is a Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Gastroenterological Association, and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
Clark Regional Digestive Care Center specializes in the treatment of a broad range of conditions that affect digestive and liver disorders. Practice services include treatment of inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD), irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), chronic hepatitis, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and swallowing and motility disorders.
Dr. Shankar is accepting new patients at Clark Clinic Digestive Care Center, 225 Hospital Drive, Suite 200, Winchester, KY 40391. His hours are Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. For a referral or to schedule an appointment, please call 859-744-5757.
